RIP Vinod Khanna! Dharmendra Gets Emotional And Said He Was Irreplacable

On Thursday Veteran actor Vinod Khanna’s news left millions of people in moist eyes. He took his last breath on 11:30 A.m in Mumbai. With his dapper looks, he was one of the most handsome actors of 80s and 90s. The actor began his acting career in 1968. His most celebrated films include Amar Akbar Anthony, Hera Pheri, Satyamev Jayate, Parvarish, Chandni and much more.

Directed by Raj Khosla Mera Gaon Mera Desh was one of his superhit movies. Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna worked together for the first time. While Dharmendra starred in the movie as the lead role, Vinod Khanna played the negative role. With his stellar performance, Vinod Khanna overshadowed Dharmendra.

That was just the beginning. Together they gave many superhit movies like The Burning Train, Guddi, Rakhwala, Rajput and much more. Though the two were supposed to be rivals, as Vinod Khanna gave Dharmendra a tough competition. But very few people know about the bond that the two shared.

Vinod Khanna lost his battle with Cancer on Thursday and left his close friend alone. When Dharmendra came to know about his demise, he was shocked.

Vinod was a very close friend. We worked in several films together, The first one was Mera Gaon Mera Desh in which Vinod played a villain. He was a man full of life. There is nothing which can replace his absence in my life. He will always be missed,” said Dharmendra.

Further, he also shared his memory from a shoot where he had to hit Vinod Khanna in the scene.

He said, “After filming the scene when I met him in the evening, I saw injury marks on his back but when I asked him about it, he said it is nothing since it is their job and they had to shoot the scene. Such was his dedication towards his work.”

She wrote, “Sad loss today of a wonderful human being, a classy actor & a dear friend & co star. His last film with me was Ek Thi Rani. RIP Vinod Khanna”

Rishi Kapoor who has worked with Vinod Khanna in many films also shared a message for him on Twitter

Will miss you Amar. RIP. Remembering the good times with you, Vinod. Thank you for being my friend.”
