Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release has finally hit theaters today. The movie is expected to be the biggest release of 2017 for 2 major reasons. First, it is none other than Bollywood’s Bhaijaan’s movie. Second, it is released on the occassion of Eid.
Kabir Khan has directed this movie who has earlier delivered two blockbusters with Salman.
Director Kabir Khan said, “I have done three films with him (Salman) and this time he has pushed the boundaries in terms of craft and acting,”
Kabir said this role is something that Salman has never done before. Most of the Salman’s Eid release has always managed to cross Rs 25 crore on opening day. Kick earned Rs. 26.52 crore, Ek Tha Tiger managed to garner Rs 33 crore, Sultan earned Rs. 36.54 crore and Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned Rs. 27.25 crore.
Below average opening received by Tubelight
But this time for some unknown reasons the hype and excitement is not like before. However, being Salman’s movie it is expected that it will do above than average business at box office.
The morning shows witnessed an overall occupancy of 35% in most of the areas. This is a below average start for a Salman Khan movie. However, Delhi received a better response from the public. At some parts in Delhi, it was a house full show. But at rest of the places the results are below average. The Mumbai and Gujarat circuit has opened very low.
Tubelight is based on the backdrop of 1962 India-China War. While Salman plays a role of a simpleton person, Sohail Khan plays the role of his brother who is also a soldier.
The emotional drama flick is officially based on 2015 American war drama Little Boy. Chinese actress Zhu-Zhu is the leading lady of the movie.
Produced by Salman Khan, it is released in 4350 screens. This is one of the biggest releases of Bollywood. However, the early trends suggest that the opening received by the movie is not as expected.
Tubelight is the solo release this Friday. Being a solo Eid release and Salman Khan’s opening, the numbers are expected to rise by the weekend.
