Veteran actor Vinod Khanna breathed his last in Mumbai on Thursday. The 70 years old actor was battling from Cancer for a long time. The late actor was in the hospital for more than a month. Ever since he was hospitalized his fans, friends and family were worried about his health. Doctors said that he was recovering but on Thursday, his condition escalated and he succumbed.

He was suffering from Bladder Cancer. His family never came up in open about his health. It was Vinod Khanna who told the media about the deadly disease. A year ago, in a media interaction, he told that he would have never told about his condition if he wasn’t a politician.

He broke the news of his illness in a media interaction in his constituency in Gurdaspur.He visited his constituency after a while. During the interaction, someone asked him the reason of his absenteeism. Media asked him why he was absent even after the attack on Pathankot airbase.
It was then when he revealed about his illness in the public. He told them that he was suffering from Cancer. The actor-turned politician said he would have never revealed the truth if he wasn’t a politician.

He was hiding this truth from past 6 years. At that time his daughter was giving her important school exam. His news of cancer would have affected her studies. It would have become difficult for her to concentrate on her studies. As that time she needed her parent’s support, he didn’t tell the truth.
This is the reason why he never told this secret to anyone. For the surgeries, he traveled to Germany several times and was under medication. He told the media that he once thought that he is completely cured. Even the doctors believed that he has recovered 80%. But the fate had something else in his destiny. He passed away on Thursday in the morning in Mumbai.

His last rituals were performed in Worli crematorium in Mumbai. Several Bollywood celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Dia Mirza, Rishi Kapoor and many more came to pay respect to the actor. In 2015, he was last seen in Shahrukh Khan’s film Dilwale.
