1. Gravitational force
When we throw something in the air, it comes back to the earth, because the earth has a force that attracts objects towards it. The theory was first discovered by an Indian astronomer Bhaskaracharya and approximately 1200 years later, Sir Isaac Newton rediscovered this phenomenon.
2. Cataract surgery
An Indian Physician and surgeon named Sushruta advocated the caesarian section and removal of kidney stones and cataracts. He is also known as the father of Anaesthesia and surgery. Though he practiced during the 5th century B.C., his contributions to medicine are similar to the discoveries made in the Western world.
3. Microwave communication
The first public demonstration of microwave transmission was made by Jagadish Chandra Bose. His demonstration forms the foundation of the technology used in mobile telephony, radars, satellite communication, radios, television broadcast, WiFi, and many other applications
4. Zero Symbol
The great Indian mathematician, Aryabhata, contributed towards the invention of ‘0’ in ‘Aryabhatta’s Bhakshali‘ manuscript. This number plays a vital role in arithmetic.
5. Space traveling
It was Saint Bharadwaj who invented an equipment that could vanish the airplane through his Vayushastras. He has also given operations of ancient vimanas, precautions for long flights, protection of the airships from storms, and how to switch the drive to solar energy, in his book Vymaanika-Shaastra, a 4th-century BC.
Acharya Charka is known to be an Ayurvedic scientist and skin specialist. He gave ayurvedic solutions to all kind of diseases and it’s mentioned in a book named Charaka Samhita.
7. Atomic theory
Atomic theory was first formulated by an Indian philosopher, Acharya Kanad.
8. Diamond mining
Diamond mining was first done in India and the earliest known reference to diamond is found in Sanskrit manuscript, the Arthasastra. Until they were discovered in Brazil in the 18th century, India remained the world’s only source of diamonds.
