Though Emma Stone Is The Highest-Paid Actress, She Is Not In Top 10!

Forbes recently released the list of highest paid celebrities in the world. And to everyone’s surprise, Emma Stone topped the list of  ‘Highest-paid actress’ list this year after earning $26 million in 2017. But what caught everyone’s attention is that the highest-earning actress in the world still makes less than the world’s 14 richest actors.

Forbe’s list shows that Emma Stone is 14 places below than other male stars in terms of total earnings

These 14 richest actors include her La la la co-star Ryan Gosling. The list proves that gender equality is still a verbal issue and is not visible in the practical world. Not just Bollywood but Hollywood film industry actresses also face the same gender inequality.

Mark Wahlberg took the spot of ‘Highest-earning Male celebrity in the world’

Mark Wahlberg aced the list after earning $68 million over the last year for his roles in Transformers: The Last Knight, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day. His upcoming squeal to Daddy’s Home contributed to his $68million total.

This year, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson dropped to second place with $65 million earnings. Vin Diesel was the third with $54.5 million earnings. Adam Sandler ($50.5m) and Jackie Chan ($49m) took the fourth and fifth place respectively.

Though Emma Stone took the first spot among the actresses, the gender pay gap was quite visible. The list showed that top 10 highest-earning male celebrities took home nearly three times as much as their female counterparts.

Forbes estimates revealed that the men earned a total $488.5 million while the leading women made just $172.5 million during the same period. The highest paid man on the list, who earned less than Emma Stone was Ryan Reynolds who took the 15th spot.

It is visible that the gender pay gap has increased since last year’s analysis which showed that male celebs took home more than 2.3 times more than the female, rather than this year’s 2.8 times.
